Atlanta Healthcare Entrepreneur Meetup: Startup Roundtable

Events > Atlanta Healthcare Entrepreneur Meetup: Startup Roundtable

On November 16, 2022, 40+ entrepreneurs joined us on Zoom for an insightful morning event! This Healthcare Entrepreneurs Meetup was not one to miss: HealthIT folks joined A.T. Gimbel and four talented founders to discuss how they started, future goals, and startup introductions — as well as how to start and grow a HealthIT business.

We kicked off the morning with enthusiastic entrepreneurs participating in a good ol’ fashioned Zoom Breakout Room networking session. Attendees discussed “What is one thing left to accomplish before the end of the year.” It was a quick opportunity to connect with new faces and reconnect with familiar ones before we dove into the event.

This month’s presenter lineup was one for the books: Christian Ross, Founder of HappyTalks; Mohamed Kamara, CEO of InovCares; Zea Khorramabadi & Cassandra McIltrot, Co-Founders of Stridelink.

Happy Talks

Happytalks is on a mission to end loneliness. Loneliness is a health crisis — elderly people are projected to double by 2040, and with busy families and stressed healthcare systems, Happy Talks steps in to coordinate care and social engagement. The platform focuses on aligning with value-based care to improve patient outcomes and enhance provider care.

“Happy Talks is about aligning with value-based care over service-based care.”— Christian Ross, Founder and CEO of Happy Talks

InovCares

InovCares believes in connecting women of color to culturally sensitive providers. These providers have gone through extensive training to tackle the fact that millions of women live in maternity care deserts, with little to no access to care. InovCares provides free health assessments, AI-powered risk factor analysis, and video conferences for immediate services.

“Startups can be hard, but they are fun.”— Mohammed Kamara, CEO of InovCares

Stridelink

Gait is the analytic observation of how we walk — a great indicator of health across different populations, offering insight into many subtle issues. While wearables like Fitbit and Apple Watch have made cardiovascular monitoring accessible, gait analysis has remained out of reach. Stridelink’s sensor-based platform tracks gait metrics over time, pointing out abnormalities and enabling treatment efficiency without subjective guesswork.

“We see this technology becoming something that is as crucial to how providers do gait analysis as ECG is for cardiologists.”— Zea Khorramabadi, Co-Founder of StrideLink
