Atlanta Startup Convos: December 2022 Meetup

December 7, 2022

On December 7, 2022, 50+ entrepreneurs joined us on Zoom for an insightful morning event! Our first winter Atlanta Startup Convos was not one to miss.

Every 6-8 weeks, Atlanta Ventures hosts an Atlanta Startup Convos Meetup. Three early stage startups shared their 7 minute story of how they started, how they are monetizing, and how they are scaling.

We kicked off the morning with some insightful discussions between the entrepreneurs in the Zoom Breakout Room networking session. Attendees discussed “What are you most excited about for the holiday season?” It was a quick opportunity to connect with new faces and reconnect with familiar ones before we dove into the Startup Convos.

This month’s presenter lineup was one for the books: Alice Thacker of Gatsby; William Ballance of Lavender; Terry Lowry of Gig Room.

Gatsby

Working to make get-togethers easier, Gatsby brings everything together in one place: a calendar, simple group messaging, reservations, and itinerary coordination. Planning trips is consistently time consuming and overly complicated — Gatsby solves that for friends and families.

“The goal with Gatsby is to bring it all in one place.”— Alice Thacker, Founder of Gatsby

Lavender

Lavender is an AI email assistant that helps sales professionals write better emails, faster — increasing reply rates by 2-4x while reducing writing time by approximately half. Working natively in Gmail, Outlook, and more, Lavender is there anywhere to make your personal and business emails the best they can be.

“Because Lavender has dynamic scoring and can adjust for what works for your team, it can really work anywhere.”— William Ballance, CEO of Lavender

Gig Room

Started as a pseudo-LinkedIn for musicians back in 2012, Gig Room was built with the idea of connecting smaller musicians. With internet-introduced lag and delays on other video call services causing real problems for musical collaboration, Gig Room became an effective niche community for musicians to connect and play together online.

“It really became an effective niche community for musicians.”— Terry Lowry, CEO of Gig Room
