Atlanta Startup Convos : June Meetup

June 16, 2021

Summer is here! We celebrated our first Atlanta Startup Convos of the season with some amazing founders improving processes in every sector they serve. This June, we had our fourth Atlanta Startup Meetup of 2021.

Every 6-8 weeks, Atlanta Ventures hosts an Atlanta Startup Convos Meetup. Three early stage startups shared their 7 minute story of how they started, how they are monetizing, and how they are scaling.

We kicked off the morning with virtual Breakout Room networking sessions — it was a quick opportunity to share your favorite local restaurant.

This month’s presenter lineup was stellar: Sammie Hasen, Founder of Medsur; Lundyn Carter, Founder of Laine London; Rekemo Fung-A-Wing, Founder of Cartet.

Medsur

Medsur Inc. is innovating feminine products by developing a product suite made for all uterus owners. Their highlight product is a revolutionary birth control phone case called BCase — it keeps birth control pills at an ideal temperature and conveniently close to its users.

“Users will choose BCase over the alternatives because we are the very first case that attaches directly to the back of your phone.”— Sammie Hasen, Founder of Medsur

Laine London

Laine London is a high-end rental bridal shop with plans to scale nationally. Their mission is to provide brides-to-be with convenient and cost-efficient access to wedding dresses without the financial, emotional, or social burdens of ownership.

“We are taking advantage of technologies not only to cut costs, but to unlock massive value and allow us to maintain our first-mover advantage, and stay two steps ahead of our competitors.”— Lundyn Carter, Founder of Laine London

Cartet

Cartet was founded to help organize shopping carts across different browser tabs in one spot. The Chrome extension simplifies the online shopping process — saving consumers time and giving them clarity on what they’re buying, at a moment when online shopping has become exhausting and complex.

“Consumers have been thrown on the internet for all of their shopping in this past year, and we are in this place where we are ready for a change in structure because what we’re doing is exhausting and not working.”— Rekemo Fung-A-Wing, Founder of Cartet
