On Wednesday, January 26th, Atlanta Ventures Partner Kathryn O’Day led a fireside chat with Salesloft Founder and CEO: Kyle Porter, and Salesloft Co-Founder: David Cummings. O’Day picked both Porter’s and Cummings’ brain about the early days at Salesloft, as well as its journey throughout the Atlanta Ventures Studio. Following the chat, members of the audience were able to ask questions during a Q&A session. To finish off the event, guests sipped on delicious Kula coffee and networked amongst themselves.
In the chat, O’Day asked Porter and Cummings questions covering topics such as how they met, what qualities David saw in Kyle early on, when they each knew they wanted to be entrepreneurs, how the idea for Salesloft evolved, how they built the product and found its first customers, and what values have guided Salesloft through its growth.
The Importance of Values
Kyle emphasized the importance of values at Salesloft. His advice on creating values is to put a word or a phrase on the values that will be memorable and stick in your head.
