I recently attended the first AgeTech Connect Summit at Atlanta Tech Village. Fantastic job by Jeff Gray and team to put this on! Here were three of my key takeaways from the event.

Getting started and the power of community

Jeff started this group from scratch. With just an idea and not much else, he got going and held the first meetup. Fast forward several years and he has built a thriving community of passionate AgeTech supporters around the country. The enthusiasm from all the speakers, sessions, and participants was amazing. When you organize community around common themes, you can unlock something special.

Market tailwinds

When we start business from scratch in our Studio, we pay attention to potential market tailwinds that can raise the entire market (and your business). AgeTech has a lot of tailwinds coming with the growing aging population, people living longer, the rising generation with exposure to technology, shortage of care facilities/caregivers, etc. This is an exciting time to be building a business in this space.

AI on your org chart

There was an interesting panel on using AI in healthcare and AgeTech. One comment that struck me was having AI as an employee on your org chart. It needs a boss to oversee it, it may provide direction to other employees, and may need to communicate with peers. But using AI is inevitable and organizations will be left behind without it.

I really enjoyed the community around this event and look forward to many more in the future!
